Even in a golden era for the genre (we&#8217;ve been spoiled by great fright flicks in the last decade), this one is in a category of its own. It belongs on the same shelf with\u00a0<em>The Exorcist, The Changeling<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>It Follows<\/em>, classics of terror and suspense that challenge the viewer intellectually as well as emotionally. True masterpieces are rare and only come along maybe once or twice a decade. For the most part, these stories were fun to write. Of course, I&#8217;m not sure that matters. I literally-not-metaphorically went crazy writing\u00a0<em>HORNS\u00a0<\/em>and that turned out pretty well<em>.\u00a0<\/em>Still, it makes me glad that people are discovering a book that gave me such pleasure to work on. At least I hope they&#8217;re good. You&#8217;re never really able to judge yourself &#8212; the verdict on any given piece of work belongs to the reader, not the writer. Maybe it&#8217;s more accurate to say that I&#8217;m enjoying the work and hoping for the best.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m also in talks with friends about various comic projects and I think there&#8217;s a chance 2019 and 2020 could have me deep in the funny book business again. Every time I read another jaw-dropping issue of\u00a0<em>Saga<\/em>\u00a0I want to get back in the game. I don&#8217;t know how BKV and Fiona Staples do it: how they manage to break my heart every time out.<\/p>\n<p>On a practical level, if Netflix follows through on\u00a0the straight-to-series order for a\u00a0<em>Locke &amp; Key<\/em>\u00a0TV show, then I guess I&#8217;d like to take a swing at\u00a0<em>World War Key: Revolution<\/em>, a book Gabe and I have been talking about for years. It would be the best possible timing for a return to Keyhouse.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the TV front, there&#8217;s been some exciting preliminary casting news for AMC&#8217;s\u00a0<em>NOS4A2<\/em>. I can&#8217;t wait to see what&#8217;s (who&#8217;s) next. Holy shit, guys, a\u00a0<em>NOS4A2<\/em>\u00a0show. How crazy?
