The story starts as follows:
\n<\/strong>The robot shuffled\u00a0clanck-clanck<\/em>\u00a0into the pitch dark of the bedroom, then stood staring down at the humans. The female human groaned and rolled away and folded a pillow over her head.
\n\u201cGail, honey,\u201d said the male, licking dry lips. \u201cmother has a headache. can you take that noise out of here?\u201d
\n\u201cI CAN PROVIDE A STIMULATING CUP OF COFFEE,\u201d boomed the robot in an emotionless voice.
\n\u2018Tell her to get out, Raymond,\u201d said the female. \u201cMy head is exploding.\u201d
\n\u201cGo on, Gail. You can hear mother isn\u2019t herself,\u201d said the male.
\n\u201cYOU ARE INCORRECT. I HAVE SCANNED HER VITALS,\u201d said the robot. \u201cI HAVE IDENTIFIED HER AS SYLVIA LONDON. SHE IS HERSELF.\u201d
\nThe robot tilted her head to one side, inquistively, waiting for more data. The pot on her head fell off and hit the floor with a great steely crash.<\/p>\n
