Joe Hill had originally intended the 2″ Key to appear in Keys to the Kingdom #3, however, the scene was cut. But Joe still considers it canon.
The 2″ Key did appear on the preliminary cover art of Keys to the Kingdom #3 when it was previewed in Previews World Magazine. After its scene was removed, the cover was redesigned to feature the Harlequin Key in its place. It’s design is similar to that of the Giant Key, with the bows of both having the same human silhouettes. Notably, the 2″ is the smallest key thus far, while the Giant Key is the largest known Key.

The 2″ Key was found by the Tyler, Kinsey and Bode Locke sometime during February 2012.

The key can barely be seen on Tyler’s keychain of keys in May 2012.
